Combining biometric screening data with digital behavioral counseling reduces type 2 diabetes risk
According to the Centers for Disease control and Prevention, over 84 million Americans have prediabetes, a condition in which blood sugar, whether measured as HbA1c, a test that measures your blood glucose over a 2-3 month time span, or glucose, is higher than normal, but not high enough to be considered type 2 diabetes.
One Quest Diagnostics study, presented at the 78th American Diabetes Association Scientific Sessions, shows employer-sponsored wellness programs that combine biometric screening data and digital behavioral counseling help participants reverse prediabetes and reduce their risk for type 2 diabetes.
